All of our JMC Race & Media guests have been busy professionals who still agreed to spend a weekend at ACU. But Dr. Juan Mundel of Arizona State University was the first to schedule time with us even though his Feb. 11 birthday was the final day of the class. He reluctantly agreed to let us sing him out.
Season 4 of The Chosen premiered in L.A. this week, and we're proud of the role multimedia major Holly Reichling played as production intern for the show this summer! Thanks to JMC alum and CBS Sports producer MK Rotenberry for her support of the department's internship program, and congrats to all our friends at The Chosen! Can't wait to watch!
Senior journalism major Connor Mullins traveled to Poland with a Lynay group conducting a soccer camp this summer for displaced children in that region. He gathered video and photos from the trip and produced a short documentaries.

ACU JMC meets Israel Balderas
The Spring 2022 edition of our Race & Media Colloquy is under way with our guest Israel Balderas from Elon University. He’ll lead 30 students to an understanding of problem-solving journalism. Because of the weather, Balderas didn’t make it to Abilene till almost midnight Friday, but we’re glad to have him.
ACU’s JMC department has always had a deep love for sports. As our men’s basketball team heads into the second round of March Madness we look back to our humble beginnings.
Throw back to 1999, the year journalism major Joey Roberts co-hosted On The Ball, covering sports on three college campuses in town. Roberts new serves as an adjunct instructor in JMC and is the vice president and director of communications and administration at Herald of Truth in Abilene

The breakfast tacos disappeared in a flash, and Mark Russell is leading 33 JMC students in deciding whether Netflix should bid for NFL TV rights. Second day of the weekend Race & Media class. Our groups split 3-3 on whether to take the billion-dollar plunge.
The ACU Journalism and Mass Communication Department gives students opportunities to refine their craft by working in professional environments through student media agencies. The multimedia student agency, 99 West Media, produces video for local clients and student experience.
Day 2 of the Race & Media weekend course sees three teams playing the roles of Community Advisory Boards in Ferguson, Mo. Under Luis Clemens' guidance they're trying to craft plans for dealing with the Justice Department report as if it has just been released.
