The ladies answering roll call loud and proud at the 2018 National Block and Bridle Convention in Orlando, FL.
Great video, Dr. B. E. Brokaw!
And the fun and learning has begun!
The Intro to Ag. and Environmental Science class is currently studying "Thinking about your future" and learning about what job, professional school (i.e. vet school), or graduate school opportunities can be available to them beyond ACU and how to take steps to get there.
Here they took time to practice answering key job interview questions with one another. On Wednesday they will hear from the ACU Career Center and learn about their amazing support services. Learning can be fun!

Did you know that #drones are used in precision agriculture?
Today AES Dept. professors Dr. Carpenter and Professor Wann attended the Taylor County Extension Office - Agriculture Wheat Tour and filmed this field demonstration of Dr. Tracey Carrillo from Quality Implement Co. showing how automated drone flight provides greater site-specific imagery than satellite imagery. A common application for this technology is seen in cotton production, dealing with precision spraying of fungicide for cotton root rot.
President of the ACU Intramural Rodeo,Mary Kittrell, along with the rest of the AES crew is outside Moody welcoming students to the Petting Zoo and getting everyone pumped for the Rodeo this Wednesday. Come stop by before 12:45 and pet a Pygmy goat, fluffy dog, a horse, or hold a chick and bring your friends!
It's a chilly morning but we have a packed house for our Sustainable Landscape Workshop!
Taylor County Extension Office - Agriculture
Yesterday students assisted Professors in conducting a prescribed control burn of a Kleingrass pasture on our ACU Rhoden Field Laboratory property. Part of the AES Dept. student learning experience for sustainable management of rangelands!
Here is AES Dept. student and pre-vet student Geoff Jasper with an update in the field:
"The Feral Cat Project is an ongoing project that involves research and operations on the feral cats around ACU. The Pre-Vet Club assists Dr. Hembree in capturing the cats, checking for diseases, and neutering the animals in order to contain the feral cat population on campus. This project serves as a great hands-on experience for those interested in pursuing Veterinary School.
Nice covey of Bobwhites in front of the "Big House" at Rhoden Farm. This is the first time I have seen a covey near the house. We have more coveys on the farm this year than I have ever seen during my time here.
