We are pleased to announce that tickets are now available for the 2025 Friends of ACU Library Dinner, which will be held in the ACU Brown Library's Packer Forum on Monday, February 25th, at 6pm. This year's event is entitled "Stories That Carry Us Home," and we will welcome to campus New York Times bestselling author Daniel Nayeri, whose remarkable journey from Iranian refugee to celebrated publisher and writer embodies the transformative power of storytelling.
Daniel Nayeri is the author of the critically acclaimed "Everything Sad Is Untrue (a true story)," winner of a Newbery award, the Michael L. Printz Award, and the Christopher Award. Born in Iran and fleeing to Oklahoma as a child, Nayeri's experience as a refugee, pastor’s son, and former professional pastry chef infuses his storytelling with rich cultural insights and profound spiritual wisdom. His work as the publisher of Odd Dot, an imprint of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, demonstrates his commitment to innovative storytelling and educational content that challenges young minds.
The evening promises to be a celebration of literature’s capacity to bridge cultures, foster understanding, and illuminate the shared human experience that binds us all together. Tickets are $40 per person, and table sponsorships can be reserved for $350. Table sponsors will be recognized in the evening's program and receive two autographed copies of Nayeri's latest book, The Many Assassinations of Samir, the Seller of Dreams.
