Perseverance pays off! Dr. Comfort Z. Olorunsaiye, associate professor of Public Health, was able to secure a $385,936 NIH grant for research here at Arcadia! Her research will explore sociocultural norms around pregnancy intervals in the African immigrant population. This past weekend, the Arcadia University and Beaver College family came together for a fantastic Homecoming & Family Weekend! It was a wonderful opportunity to engage in a number of activities and connect with the community. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating the bonds that make Arcadia one of a kind. Daniel Padmos ’24DPT is today’s Knight to Know. Hailing from NYC, Daniel was able to fit his courses into a busy schedule while working as a physical therapy assistant thanks to Arcadia’s hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy program. During his time here he focused on improving his clinical skills, and he was even able to work with dancers from the New York City Ballet during full-time clinical! We are so proud of Daniel and our 2024 DPT graduates.

Matthew Rausch '24DPT, a student in our hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy program, is today's Knight to Know. Originally from Chicago, Matthew now lives in Seattle. During his time at Arcadia, he's had the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on research and provide physical therapy services to people in Guatemala through Arcadia's partnership with Hearts in Motion. We had an amazing turnout at the 3rd annual Professional Pathways Reception! Over 25 organizations joined us in The Commons Great Room for a networking event facilitated by Arcadia's Office of Career Education.

Juno Teller ‘28, an Acting (Musical Theater) major from Culpeper, Virginia, is today’s Knight to Know. Juno’s proudest accomplishment to date is organizing and leading a student demonstration at his high school in support of LGBTQ+ student rights. Fatoumata Sidibe is a Political Science major from Philadelphia who traveled to Frankfurt, Germany, to participate in a global summit forum as a youth delegate. Our new come from all corners of the country, including New Hampshire -- a state that Ella Walsh calls home. Ella is a Chemistry major and plays on the women's soccer team. As a Knight, she says she's looking forward to "learning more about chemistry and science as a whole. I’m also looking forward to the change of college. I’m excited to meet new people and make more memories."

Introducing Ian Catalino-Vasquez, a first-year Law and Public Policy major who was born and raised in the Dominican Republic before moving to Philadelphia at age 10! Ian takes pride in the hard work it took to learn English and eventually graduate high school.

At Arcadia, he says, “I hope to surround myself with people who will not only make me better and lift me up but will make this new chapter of my life one I will never forget.”

Next Thursday, Sept. 5 is the annual Rock The Knight food truck festival! Our students, led by Archie, our Knight mascot, and Ajay Nair, President of Arcadia University, will process from campus down Easton Avenue to join the rest of the Glenside community for delicious eats from 40 food trucks and a line-up of live music.
