Theater Arts at Arcadia University

Theater Arts at Arcadia University Throughout your lifetime, you will undoubtedly take on many different roles. Arcadia helps prepare you for all of them.

The Theatre Arts program offers artistic education centered on maximizing the passions, talents and personal development of our students. We go beyond a traditional conservatory-style approach by creating opportunities for immersion in all aspects of theatrical creation. Our small size enables close interaction with faculty in an intimate liberal arts setting. Our proximity to Philadelphia’s dynam

ic theater community connects students with industry professionals (who work with us as instructors and guest artists) and professional opportunities beyond campus. We encourage students to develop their talents, but also to study globally and educate themselves in a wider world of cultures and ideas.

Up next on capstones!
Friday, April 18th, at 8pm in the little theater.
Child of Daedalus is a piece written by Icarus Varady about identity, reconnecting to their inner child, their gender identity and journey as a nonbinary person and becoming the best version of yourself. It features self written pieces as well as 6 songs from a variety of artists and genres. Although it was written to detail their own personal life and journey, the piece explores very universal experiences and themes and forms a strong sense of community with the audience.

First up for our senior capstones is Finnigan Irvin and Katy Robinson, with their production of Mrs.Harrison.
Here’s a short summary from the director:
“At their 10-year college reunion, Aisha and Holly meet by accident. Aisha is a Black, successful playwright; Holly is a white, struggling stand-up comedian. Aisha’s most successful play has a striking resemblance to a tragic event in Holly’s life.”

Come see this show tonight in the Black Box Theatre! Seats are limited so arrive at a reasonable time. House opens at 7:30
