Margaret is an alum of our Biology department and also completed her MBA in healthcare management at AC. She's on campus now, you can reach her at [email protected]. Students can look forward to great pre-health services under her leadership.

My personal favorite is APPLICATION RENOVATION on his YouTube Channel. This service analyzes applications that did not succeed (even when you think they were a sure thing!) and discusses why. Take a little time and watch a few of these to learn more about how Admission Committees at Medical Schools see applicants. (Kudos to these poor souls who are willing to put their applications out there to be dissected!!!)

Plan now for summer 2024!
Summer REUs (research experiences for undergraduates) are available across the country at major universities, Many applications are due in December or January, so EARLY targeting of programs to which you might apply can really pay off. Here's a list of programs at University of Michigan..... take a look and see if you might be eligible for these next year. Ask faculty for help finding other options, and be sure to attend our REU workshop in November each year.

Summer experiences offer opportunities to participate in exciting projects, mentored by and working side-by-side with some of the brightest minds in science and medicine. Many programs are available not only within the Medical School but across the University of Michigan campus as well.

Summer plans?? Many camps employ pre health students as counselors for a week or a whole summer -- usually these are volunteer opportunities -- but may involve small salaries. Take a look at Camp Catch A Rainbow located near Jackson for children with cancer..... and look for other programs like it around the state.

Plan ahead to attend.... this March 22, 2023 event at GVSU will have speakers/information on health programs from all over the midwest. The 2023 Health Professional and Graduate School Fair, which will be held in-person at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. This event will be promoted to over 2,500 preprofessional students at GVSU as well as students attending other colleges in Michigan. Great chance to look at a lot of programs and speak to various admissions officers on one day.
