Congrats, Maiya! We are so proud of you and we wish you the best of luck in your nursing career!

"I am from Trinidad, Colorado. I decided to go to Adams State as my mom graduated from here as well as one of my aunties."

Favorite Part of the Nursing Program: The friends I made and the personal growth I experienced.

Future Plans: Pass the NCLEX! Then get a job at the hospital back home and eventually move into pediatrics.

Congratulations, Nicole! We are so proud of you and all of your hard work - we know you're going to make a great nurse!

"As a mother, pursuing a nursing degree at Adams State University was a journey filled with challenges and triumphs. Balancing the demands of motherhood with the rigors of nursing school required resilience, determination, and a strong support system. I'm proud to have navigated this path, and I am deeply grateful for the experiences and growth I've achieved here."

Favorite of the Nursing Program: The opportunity to explore various specialties through diverse clinical rotations. From psychiatric nursing, to pediatrics and emergency care, these experiences provided insights into different areas of nursing. This exposure not only broadened my perspective but also helped me identify areas where I can make the most impact in my future career.

Future Plans: I'm excited to begin my nursing career with a new graduate residency program at San Luis Valley Health, starting in the medical-surgical unit. I will then transition to a position in labor and delivery or the emergency department, where I can continue to grow and make a meaningful impact.

I'm proud to be part of the Adams State University nursing community and look forward to the adventures ahead!

Quote: "I didn’t just graduate nursing schoolβ€”I set an example for my children that they can achieve anything they dream of."

Congratulations, Jamie! We're so proud of you and we're excited for your future as a nurseβ€”you’re going to do great!

"As graduation approaches, I am appreciative of the opportunity to attend ASU, where I experienced their guidance and dedication which has given me confidence in myself as I step into a Nursing career."

Favorite Aspect of the Nursing Program: Attending Clinicals and participating in other opportunities outside of the San Luis Valley through ASSNA, providing me with new experiences and insight on what a nursing career path can offer.

Personal Interests: Softball in the summers, fishing, anything outdoors, but also taking time to slow down with friends and family.

Future Plans: I am exploring my options still; however, I am considering working in Wisconsin to be close with my grandparents, but may stick around the SLV, and serve my community

"I am from the San Luis Valley and I chose ASU Nursing because it is close to home! Some of my favorite things include ranching, going to the mountains, and spending time with my family!"

Favorite Part of the Nursing Program: I enjoyed experiencing new things at clinicals, having faculty that helped me to grow, and meeting new friends!

Future Plans: Pass the NCLEX & work in rural Colorado!

πŸŽ“ Senior Spotlight: William Wagner

Congratulations, Will! We are so proud of you and we wish you all the best in your nursing career - we know you'll do great!

"I am from Silverthorne, Colorado. I decided to go to Adams State to play lacrosse, rock climb, and ski. Throughout nursing school I have met many great people and would not have made it without them. I am forever grateful for the way this program has helped shape me as a nurse and person!"

Favorite Part of the Nursing Program: My favorite part of nursing school was building friendships in the most unlikely place, like prison. The support from friends and faculty made nursing school fun.

Future Plans: I start a new grad residency program in July in Highlands Ranch. I am starting in the PCU, but I want to work in both the ICU and the ER.
