Upward Bound projects provide academic instruction in mathematics, laboratory sciences, composition, literature, and foreign languages. Tutoring, counseling, mentoring, cultural enrichment, work-study programs, education or counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of students; and programs and activities previously mentioned that are specially designed for studen
ts who are limited English proficient, students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education, students with disabilities, students who are homeless children and youths, students who are in foster care or are aging out of foster care system or other disconnected students.

Attention SLV Seniors & Parents! Do you need assistance completing your 2024-2025 FAFSA? You are invited to the Leap into FAFSA Event in honor of the leap year! Adams State University is partnering with the financial aid and TRIO offices from Trinidad State College, Valley Campus to assist students and families, regardless of where they plan on enrolling. The event will be held in the SUB Computer Lab on February 29th from 3 to 6 PM. Refer to the following link on how to prepare for this event!

UB/UBMS Students are invited to join us for our Wolf Creek Ski Trip on March 1st, 2024. The deadline to register is February 12th, 2024
We are taking the first 25 students who sign up and register! We encourage everyone to apply, even if you are not among the first 25 to apply, we will put you on a running waiting list. The Wolf Creek Ski Area Registration can be found in the newsletter and Google Classroom.

UB/UBMS seniors and parents are invited to join us for a FAFSA workshop during our January All Schools session on Tuesday 1/16/2024 at Adams State University McDaniel Hall. If you cannot attend, we are more than happy to schedule a one on one appointment with a UB staff member.
** FYI: Due to the recent launch of the new FAFSA form, studentaid.gov may occasionally pause access to the FAFSA form to perform maintenance and improve the user experience.

Stipend Update! Fall stipends are ready to be picked up. Students can contact the office if they are unsure if they have one.
An important reminder for all UB/UBMS students! All fall day sessions and December sessions are due tonight by 11:59 pm. Sessions can be found in your Google Classroom. Contact our office via text or email to know which ones you are missing or would like the form sent to you. We will notify you once the stipends are ready. Happy holidays!

We appreciate you patience as we worked to issue Academic Year Stipends (Jan-May Checks) Residential students can pick up their stipend from Luella when checking in for the week on Sunday evening. All other students, please pick up your stipend from the UB office this month from 7:30-4:30, M-F. Have questions or are not sure if you have a stipend? Call 719-587-7865!
UPDATE: Stipends will be postponed until further notice. Please do not come to the UB office as there has been an error in processing stipends. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
