Adam State University and Trinidad State College are celebrating National Farmworkers Awareness Week featuring Maurice “Mo” Jourdane and Olivia Jourdane! Mo, with the encouragement and support of Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, is responsible for outlawing the cortito/short handled hoe in the state of California in 1975. He and his wife are traveling from San Diego California to tell us about this landmark court case along with the “Victoria Contra el Cortito” mural, recently unveiled June 25, 2023 in Chicano Park in San Diego California.
