At the President’s Awards for Exemplary Public Engagement online conversation last night, alum Ian Walter '20 made a surprise visit to share how his ECE capstone experience made an impact on him. Ian, who is currently in the direct-to-PhD program in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, was also a team leader during the CEAS response to tackle the critical PPE shortage during Spring 2020 by creating, assembling and distributing NIH-approved medical face shields with 3D printed parts. It was great seeing you, Ian. You make us proud!

CEAS congratulates Computer Science (CS) senior Pranjal Atrey, who received full funding and Dean's Fellowship to pursue a PhD in Computer Engineering at University of Maryland, College Park (ranked 14th in Computer Engineering in the nation and top 5 on the East Coast). Atrey credits his working with Electrical and Computer Engineering professors Mustafa Aksoy and Daphne Zois to developing his further interest in the field. He also comes from a family of CS academics, including his father, Dr. Pradeep Atrey. Bravo!
