Job Description:
The University at Albany is seeking two knowledgeable and skilled Accessibility Counselors. The counselors work with the Assistant Dean for Disability Access and Inclusion Student Services (DAISS) and the DAISS team to provide direct services to students with disabilities. This role ensures that eligible students receive appropriate accommodation and supportive services in compliance with federal regulations. The counselors participate in DAISS registration with accommodation assessment, one-on-one coaching, event/program facilitation, collaborating with colleagues and other departments to coordinate resources, assisting with managing the DAISS Testing Center, Testing Center scheduling and
proctoring, and supervising an MSW intern.

Please remember that we will be holding our new student orientation for Special Education and Literacy master’s students on Friday August 25th from 2:30-3:30pm in BB 151 (Business Building). You should have received an email about this event on August 14. This meeting is mandatory for students in the Special Education and Literacy programs; students in the Inclusion and Intern Cert programs are welcomed, but not required, to attend. You will meet your cohort and learn a little bit more about your programs. You are also encouraged to stay for the School of Education picnic to follow!
