The GPSA hosted a successful tour of the Albany Rural Cemetery last week. The tour showcased the Albany Rural Cemetery Explorer App (ARCE) which combines history and mapping for self-guided tours and will soon be available for free download. https://www.albany.edu/arce/

UAlbany Students and Faculty were joined by members of the Bender Foundation. They have made generous contributions to support the App which was developed by the Geography & Planning department led by Dr. Rui Li. A special Thanks to Friends of the ARC for their support in our tour.

The Capital District Transportation Authority - CDTA has started work on a Transit Development Plan (TDP). The TDP is a strategic blueprint that outlines the future vision and goals for enhancing and expanding public transportation services within CDTA’s service network. This forward-looking plan will pave the way for the next several years and look for ways to provide a more efficient experience for our community.

Take the survey or put one of the community meetings on your calendar! The online survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and will be available through October: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CDTACommunitySurvey

New York State is seeking feedback on how funds from the Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act of 2022 should be spent. Now is a great chance to tell them to spend it on greenway trails (or other green infrastructure projects you're interested in)!

You can either submit a specific project or submit more general feedback about the type of projects you'd like to see funded.

Fill out the feedback form by this Friday, September 15: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/1009c5d5ef5e4bc4b09f47ba7012086b?fbclid=IwAR1-2BhY_lXEVytEyH4vC-BcZCL6JM7w7aFG1cq3mbmNiitRhT7l-x3Y3Kg

Want to see more greenway trails built across the state? 👷‍♀️🚲

Join PTNY as we push for Bond Act funding to develop a comprehensive system of multi-use greenway trails, connecting every corner of the state.

Fill out New York’s survey of initial project ideas by this Friday, September 15, and either let the state know about a trail project important to you, or about the importance of investing in greenway trails in general.
