In our Data Management for Organizational Success course, instructor Jake Salik recently facilitated a dynamic discussion with the 2026 University at Albany MBA for Executives Program cohort on business continuity and disaster recovery planning for IT professionals.

These business professionals explored how organizations can safeguard operations, mitigate risk, and ensure data integrity in the face of unexpected disruptions—skills that are more critical than ever in today’s data-driven world.

A 2018 University at Albany MBA for Executives Program graduate, Nafeesa Koslik is bringing her energy, leadership, and hospitality acumen to a meaningful new chapter, supporting compassionate end-of-life care across the Adirondack region as Business Development Manager for High Peaks Hospice.

This move follows her successful run as General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Albany Airport and her earlier role as Director of Workforce Development & Culture at AIM Services, Inc. With over two decades of experience in hotel management and a strong foundation in executive leadership, Nafeesa possesses a unique ability to build relationships, lead teams, and drive mission-focused impact.

"My education and experience with the University at Albany Massry School of Business MBA program and my fellow students enhanced my knowledge to be a leader that my team needed. I was also able to apply my class lessons directly to my work," she shared. "I learned the most from my cohort members as all came from different industries, countries, and cultures. Some of the best friends I have are from my cohort, and they will be my lifelong friends.”

We are proud of Nafeesa’s continued evolution as a purpose-driven professional, and we know she’ll bring the same warmth and commitment to High Peaks Hospice as she did in hospitality. I am incredibly proud to announce that my former marketing student and University at Albany MBA for Executives Program marketing intern, Samantha Barone, has been named General Manager of Related Companies' iconic 10 Hudson Yards location.

Samantha's journey at Related Companies, a global real estate and lifestyle company and the self-proclaimed most prominent privately-owned real estate firm in the U.S., is nothing short of phenomenal.

After joining in 2018 as a Property Coordinator (following a successful seven-year tenure at Macy's), this 2011 University at Albany Massry School of Business alumna rapidly ascended through the ranks: Operations Manager, Assistant Property Manager, and Assistant General Manager. By 2023, she was a General Manager overseeing two Florida locations, and now she's back in New York City, leading 10 Hudson Yards.

This is what dedication, talent, and an amazing drive look like. Join me in congratulating Samantha on this incredible achievement! University at Albany, SUNY UAlbany Alumni Association University at Albany School of Business UAlbany School of Business
