If your high school Unit GPA is 3.75 or higher, you are required to apply for the Presidential Scholarship. If your high school Unit GPA is 3.9 or higher, you are required to apply for both Presidential and Regent’s Scholarship.

Congratulations to our students for completing one of the most important experience in their premedical and medical education at UNM. The Summer Practicum allowed them to immerse themselves in the communities we hope they will one day serve, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and insights.

Congratulations to Dr. Robert Sapien, MD, MMM, professor, director of UNM School of Medicine’s Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division, and director of UNM’s Combined BA/MD Degree Program! Dr. Sapien and his team at UNMH played a pivotal role in a study published in The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, developing a highly accurate cervical spine injury prediction rule that reduces CT scan use in children, ensuring safer diagnoses. We’re proud of this achievement and its positive impact on pediatric healthcare.

The 2024 Summer Practicum is off to a great start!

The BA/MD rising juniors in the Summer Practicum are currently in nine different rural areas of New Mexico, gaining hands-on experience in real-world health settings. This experiential learning prepares them for future careers in healthcare and fosters a commitment to improving health outcomes in underserved areas.
