"Bike to UNM Day highlights a fun, sustainable way to get to campus that’s good for your health and the environment,” said Anne Jakle, Director of UNM’s Office of Sustainability. “When you bike to campus, there’s no traffic, parking stress, expense, or air emissions. On May 7 we will celebrate those who cycle to UNM and also hope to encourage people who are curious about biking to campus to try it."
Welcome stations will be available from 7:30 to 10 A.M. on North and Central Campus. When riders reach campus, they will be greeted with food, coffee, and bike-related swag. Multiple services will be available, including bike registration by UNM Staff Council, e-bike demos by Kickstand Cycles and PNM, and a bike tuning package raffle by the Outdoor Adventure Center’s Lobo Bike Shop. The Lobo Bike Shop provides bicycle services to the UNM community, including tune-ups, repairs, rentals, bike part sales, and educational workshops.
