Alpha Xi Alumnae Chapter of Virginia was established by Twenty-one amazing and experienced women from various undergraduate and graduate chapters across the nation. This past weekend our chapter sister, Bianca Morales (SP17, L4, #1) traveled to New Jersey for LTA’s 50th Anniversary Banquet! The weekend was full of celebration, connection and reflection. Bianca spent time with different alumnae chapters and sisters, and even toured Kean University with some of our Founding Mothers, where it all began 🩶🌴

Glad you had a wonderful time, and we’re ecstatic to continue celebrating 50 years! 👏🎉

In conjunction with VAA1 Area Board, we proudly invite you to join us in our new forum, Lambda Lady Table Talk! 🔗Link in bio to register on CampusGroups!

The purpose is to foster a safe and inclusive space to share our thoughts, feelings, and ideals surrounding the presented theme - this month is surrounding Women’s History Month! This is open to all Sisters and Siblings to gather and discuss relevant topics, identities, and issues that affect our everyday lives.

Lambda Lady Table Talk sessions will begin with a meditation or grounding moment, followed by the discussion, then ending with resources and a call to action to broaden the scope of the conversation so that we can continue to build community and resilience outside of the session.

We hope you are able to join us in our first Lambda Lady Table Talk event! And don’t worry, if you are unable to attend we plan to have more Table Talk’s in the future! If you have any questions, please reach out and let us know.

Inviting Sisters and Siblings to Alpha Xi’s Chapterversary Brunch on March 16 in Arlington, VA as we celebrate 13 years of excellence this month! 🩶 Please check your emails for full details and to RSVP or reach out at [email protected].

Additionally, we’ll be holding a Menstrual Product Drive for Women’s History month - collecting new/unopened packages of pads, tampons, liners or menstrual cups going towards local nonprofit organizations in Fairfax County. If you plan on attending the brunch, we would encourage bringing in items to donate!

As Alpha Xi is located in the Alexandria, VA area, it also filled with rich African American History - including vibrant Black populations dating to the 18th century, one of the largest slave trading operations, and America’s first Sit-Down Strike in the early days of the Civil Rights movement.

There are a few remaining events some locations in the City is hosting regarding Black History Month - if you are interested please attend! Or visit one of the many historic sites in Alexandria that is open year round.

Black History Month goes beyond just February - let’s continue to honor and celebrate all the achievements and contributions always.
