It's time for PTK Virginia/West Virginia Region of Phi Theta Kappa Regional Convention. This year's meeting is in Martinsburg, West Virginia, about 90 minutes away from the Annandale, campus. Hey Tau Nu! Welcome back! We have some good news: there is a new president, Lily Y. who has been a chapter member in the past and a new chapter advisor, Karen Chipman! A new board has also been selected and they are planning regular meetings for the fall and an Alexandria campus induction. Invitations to new members will be going out later in the semester. Hey, Tau Nu! Before COVID, the chapter did some volunteer work at So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.) in DC located at 71 Oglethorpe St NW. They have reached out to previous volunteers for help with painting walls. If any alums or members would like to lend a hand, feel free to get in touch. Here's their message:

As So Others Might Eat expands, we're reaching out for volunteers with a knack for interior painting and a heart for service.
Our new facility, spread across two floors, requires a team of 10+ individuals or a smaller group willing to work in phases since there is a lot of square footage to cover. We're hoping to complete this important project by the end of August, near our O Street NW headquarters.
If your corporate, religious, or community group can lend us your painting skills, we'd love to hear from you.

Just to remind that VA/WV Regionals are next weekend March 8-10, 2024 in Chantilly at the Hyatt/Dulles Airport! Registration closes tomorrow, March 1st. Cost is $80 for current Kappans and free for alumni. On occasion in the past, there has been funds available via the chapter advisor, but you would have to check.
