Thank you to Patty Macha, owner of Magnolia View Flower Garden, for taking us on a walking tour of her beautiful gardens and teaching us how to best fill the flowerboxes we built. We learned it's best to have a thriller, filler and a spiller! Another thank you to Jessica Young, owner of The Corner Market, for helping us with the beautiful flowers we used to fill the boxes.

A HUGE thank you to Powell in St. Louis for the afternoon tour of their facilities. We learned so much during our visit and definitely had our interest piqued on different ways to use STEM in our future job options.

The students spent some time exploring liquid nitrogen today.

Liquid nitrogen (LN2) is nitrogen in a liquid state at low temperature. Liquid nitrogen has a boiling point of about −196 °C (−321 °F; 77 K). It is produced industrially by fractional distillation of liquid air. It is a colorless, mobile liquid whose viscosity is about one-tenth that of acetone (i.e. roughly one-thirtieth that of water at room temperature). Liquid nitrogen is widely used as a coolant.

Mr. Ringle and Mr. Ebelt joined us yesterday to discuss the STEM dependent jobs of pilots and drone pilots. We learned that you need knowledge of meteorology, math, engineering and technology for either of these professions. And as a bonus, we got to see a drone fly and have our pictures taken. And then taken in infrared.

This afternoon we had Mr. Dan and Mr. Dave talk to us about flying drones and airplanes. Then Heidi spent a bit of time leading all the campers in a Neurographic art project. We even had a few extra minutes to hit the rec center. More pictures to come!
