Soumya Hukkeri, a graduate of Northeastern University College of Engineering Master of Science in Information Systems program, combined her academic knowledge with real-world experience to help her turn a successful co-op into her dream job at Amazon.

During her internship at Amazon Web Services (AWS) ), Soumya developed an automated solution that reduced her team’s manual work by 50%. Her initiative and impact led to a full-time job offer from AWS just ten days after her internship concluded.

This week, Emily Mazzola and Madison Barton from our team attended the AI+ Expo here in Washington, D.C.

The Special Competitive Studies Project hosted this event, bringing together government, industry, and academia leaders to discuss AI, quantum computing, national security, and new technologies. Emily and Madison connected with attendees and shared information about the graduate programs at the Arlington campus while CEO and Regional Dean Jamie Jones Miller spoke with an audience about various programs and AI Initiatives underway at Northeastern University.

Pradhyumna Soni, a graduate student in the College of Engineering Master of Science in Information Systems program, combines technical skills with leadership to address real-world challenges and strengthen communities.

With a background in computer science and experience at Cisco in Bangalore, Pradhyumna came to Northeastern to enhance his technical and managerial abilities. He found a collaborative, close-knit environment that encouraged him to take on leadership roles in class, on campus, and during his co-op position at Nokia in California.

Tharun Cota, a graduate student in the Master of Science in Information Systems program, developed an innovative AI tool called VisionCheck as part of a course project. This application evaluates the novelty and originality of user-submitted ideas by analyzing data from patents, academic sources, and online trends.

His project was showcased at the inaugural IMPACT Symposium in Boston, highlighting student contributions to industry and society.

Throughout his journey at the Arlington campus, Tharun has undergone a remarkable transformation, marked by personal growth, exploration of new ideas, and a series of significant accomplishments that have shaped his academic and professional path.
