Today, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Zeta Chi Omega Chapter honors Juneteenth. The celebration of Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the moment on June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom.

We commemorate this day as a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for justice and equity.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Zeta Chi Omega Chapter recycled paraphernalia at our June chapter meeting. Our members searched in closets and drawers for items that were new and/or gently used and donated them to the ZCO Ivy Swap Boutique. “Vintage” items were given new life and our members had a great time shopping for “new to you” pieces!
