Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) of Arlington Virginia in collaboration with Marymount's Healthcare Management Department demonstrated its Hands to Heart Campaign at Marymount's Student Engagement Fair. Over 100 students participated and learnt how to perform CPR.

Bachrach Family Scholarship applications now available
AUPHA is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Bachrach Family Scholarship for Excellence in Healthcare Administration. Formerly managed by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the scholarship was established to create an endowed scholarship with the intent of creating a durable legacy to the education of students in areas and at institutions that contributed to the success of David and Linda Bachrach.

The $5,000 Scholarship will be available to students enrolled “full-time” in a CAHME accredited residential program in healthcare administration during their second year of the program of study. It recognizes their demonstrated successful academic performance as an undergraduate, as well as during their first year of graduate study. Preference will be given to otherwise qualified students who are the first in their immediate family to pursue graduate level education, qualified students who can demonstrate an economic need for such financial support, and/or qualified women applicants.

Please encourage your eligible students to apply for the Bachrach Family Scholarship. The application deadline is May 31, 2017. Links to more information about the scholarship and the online application are below.

The Private Diagnostic Clinic, PLLC, (PDC) the outpatient physician practice of Duke Health, is seeking
candidates for its 2018-2020 Administrative Fellowship Program.
The PDC Administrative Fellowship Program offers career development opportunities to qualified
individuals interested in expanding their knowledge and gaining experience in health care delivery.
The two-year program exposes Fellows to various aspects of care delivery within an independent,
integrated, multi-specialty physician practice. The PDC has nearly 1,500 physician members and 78 clinics
at Duke, in Durham and throughout central and eastern North Carolina.
We will be hosting a series of web conferences to provide detailed information about the organization
and program. These web conferences are designed to give students an opportunity to understand where
the PDC fits in the Duke University Health System, learn about the outpatient focused development
program, and receive guidance about the do’s and don’ts for applying to the administrative fellowship.
If you would like to learn more about the PDC Administrative Fellowship Program, we have scheduled 3
online web conferences to answer any questions you may have regarding the fellowship, to learn more
about the projects, and to understand the career trajectory this program offers.
WebEx conferences have been scheduled for March 3rd, 30th and April 6th. Each session will begin at
approximately 1:00pm EST and will last approximately 45 minutes
