Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Donte Martin, an information systems major who has worked with OIT Endpoint Support for one year.

After graduation, Donte wants to pursue a career in IT networking. He said he regularly works to enhance his skills through certifications, hands-on experience, and developing his interpersonal abilities.

“As I was growing up, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do,” Donte said. “But after a while I started thinking about it and I took a class back in 2022 called Computer User Support… so then I figured it out like, okay, I like networking so I think I’m going to go that route.”

He is expected to graduate in 2026. Thank you for your contributions to OIT!

🌟Student Spotlight🌟

Arshad Jafri Shaik Mohammed is an international student from India pursuing a Master of Science in Data Science. He has worked as a Web Developer with OIT since July 2024.

“As an international student, getting a job on campus is kind of tough because there's a lot of competition for this one spot,” Mohammed said. “So, I was really happy when I got the role because it was something related with the technical aspects of my expertise.”

He began his career as a software developer before moving to America to pursue his MS. Driven by a passion for AI, machine learning, and data science, Mohammed consistently seeks opportunities for personal and professional growth. During his undergraduate studies at R.M.D Engineering College, his goal was to improve his public speaking skills, leading him to deliver his first national broadcast on All India Radio (AIR) about "Why Books are Your Friends."

He is set to graduate in December. Thank you for your contributions to our department and graceful display of navigating cultural barriers!

🌟Student Spotlight🌟

Today, we are highlighting Daniel Lamptey, an Information Systems major who has been an invaluable member of our team. He has interned with OIT Change and Process Improvement since Fall 2024.

“Working for OIT, I think my biggest accomplishment is just being able to learn how to be in a corporate setting," Daniel said. "This is the first position where I’ve been able to collaborate with team members in this sort of way.”

Daniel's family immigrated from Ghana before he was born, and he spent part of his early childhood living there. He emphasized that blending his American upbringing with his cultural values has been crucial to his success.

This summer, he will join GM Financial as a process excellence intern.

“In all reality, I want to be able to impact whatever organization I’m a part of. I believe each organization starts with the people," said Daniel. "Just being able to impact others is what I hope to do with my degree after I graduate.”

Daniel is set to graduate in December 2025. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and determination!
