White Coat Ceremony: Cohort 32
GW Nursing is excited to honor the accomplishments of Cohort 32!
The White Coat Ceremony marks an honored tradition, serving to welcome students to health care practice and elevating the value of humanism as the core of health care. It provides a powerful emphasis on compassion in combination with scientific excellence. The ceremony is considered a rite of passage in the journey towards a health care career.
Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at the GW Nursing Fall Open House! We hope you enjoyed touring our impressive Simulation and Innovation Learning Center and meeting our talented faculty and staff - now you know first-hand what GW Nursing is all about! #GWNursing
Summer 2023 Pinning Ceremony
The pinning ceremony welcomes our GW Nursing graduates into the profession of nursing. Professors and mentors present each new nurse with ceremonial pins, representing their graduation from The George Washington University. Graduating nurses will then take the Nightingale Pledge, named in honor of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, and pledge their service to the high ideals of the nursing profession.

Dr. Mike Williams.mp4
Why I Give - Dr. Mike Williams, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs
For many students, the ability to pay for school is the biggest hurdle to college access and degree completion. Students from all backgrounds rely on federal student loans to bridge gaps in funding not met by scholarships or grants.
Because the majority of GW Nursing students are pursuing second degrees, either at the undergraduate or graduate level, many have already accumulated large debt loads and may be unwilling or unable to secure the needed private or federal loan dollars to offset the cost of attending. For those whose programs of study make it difficult to work while enrolled, finding tuition support is critical.
Donor support, no matter how much or how little, helps to make nursing school affordable and accessible while lessening the financial burden placed on these learners. Every gift counts because every student counts.
