Faculty had the opportunity to highlight our programs and demonstrate our commitment to student success. Another special moment took place when state legislators recognized our Bears men’s basketball team for their record-breaking season and community impact.

🎉Congratulations to Coach Byron Starks!🏀
Men’s Basketball Head Coach has been named the LABC 2025 Louisiana Junior College Coach of the Year!

Coach Starks led the Bears to the most wins in a season with a 20-9 overall record and an impressive 13-game win streak during the regular season. The Bears strong finish earned them an automatic bid to the postseason, where they won a first-round playoff game to advance to the Region XXIII Quarterfinals.

Several students recently participated in the SkillsUSA - Louisiana Postsecondary competition in New Orleans!

All of our students performed well and competed in HVAC, Welding, Culinary, Diesel, Automotive, and Medical Assistant categories. Notably, two of our students earned 🥇 GOLD in HVAC and Diesel which qualifies them for Nationals!

We extend our gratitude to the faculty and staff for their support and a special thanks to Instructor Stefan Smith for serving as the lead for this competition.

Looking to launch a high-wage, high-demand career? Join Baton Rouge Community College in collaboration with ExxonMobil Baton Rouge for the North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative (NBRITI) Open House on Tuesday, April 29 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the BRCC Acadian Campus.

Explore no-cost training opportunities in electrical, instrumentation, millwright, pipefitting, process technology, and welding.
