Writers, here’s a pro-tip for using our Appointment (bit.ly/writingappt) services: if there isn’t an opening that works for you, hop on the waitlist. We open up new appointments all the time. Also, when there is a cancellation, you’ll be notified immediately. To join the waitlist, look for the link on the bottom right hand corner of each day’s appointments. You can join the waitlist for multiple days!

Though different people work best at different times, planning to write at the time that works best for you will help you be at your most productive. Writers, here’s a quick tip for revising your writing: read it out loud! When you read your writing silently, your brain fills in missing bits, skips over typos, and makes sense of parts that don’t actually make sense. When you read out loud, it forces you to slow down, pay attention to your words, and hear how your writing really sounds. Pro tip: if you’re worried about bothering folks in the library or in your dorm, come on down to the SLC where reading aloud is encouraged!
