🦖🦴 Did you know UC Berkeley has a freestanding mount of Tyrannosaurus rex in the atrium of the Valley Life Sciences Building? This T. rex is a cast of a skeleton found in 1988 by rancher Kathy Wankel in Montana. Matt Smith, also from Montana, did the molding and casting.

Fun fact: A team of scientists and students, plus sculptors from Industrial Light and Magic, helped create the steel braces that support the skeleton’s pose and prevent its collapse in the event of an earthquake.
