Our Story
The future of public health
We all know the future is not health care. It’s health. More specifically, it’s the 90 percent of factors that contribute to our health – our biology, our environment, our social interactions and our lifestyle and behavior. This makes us uniquely positioned to improve the health and wellness of people, families and communities, lower healthcare costs and affect health system change.
As a unique community of problem-solvers, and through teaching, research and collaboration across our college, university, state and world, we are leading the change in how people think about and ensure health across the lifespan, from infants to seniors.
We affect change through teaching students who become leaders in their profession, through our research that affects behavior change and policy and through our collaboration with communities in finding solutions to their most difficult health challenges.
