Oregon State University Army ROTC - The Beaver Army

Oregon State University Army ROTC - The Beaver Army Celebrating 150 years of honored tradition as the "West Point of the West" This is Oregon State University Army ROTC's official page.

OSU Army ROTC continues the tradition of "The West Point of the West,” the nickname earned during World War II when the OSU Corps produced more officers than any other non-military academy in the nation. Our Army ROTC graduates continue their proud heritage of dedicated service to the nation, while our current cadets accept the challenges of the ROTC program as they prepare to be tomorrow’s leader

A CO CDT of the week is MSIII Braedon Littrell!

"Hi, I am Braedon Littrell and I am a junior at Oregon state studying kinesiology. I joined rotc last year not really knowing what it was, but I have grown to love it and the people that surround me. When I’m not at school, I love to play video games, play music, hike, play sports, and spend time with friends."

B CO CDT OF THE WEEK!!

"Hello, I’m Colton Petersen, a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering and a cadet in AROTC at OSU. I’m from Springfield Oregon and enjoy all the natural wonders Oregon has to offer. I joined as PT only and quickly fell in love with the program and community. I’ve always wanted to serve in the military as it was embedded in my family. My grandpa was an Army paratrooper in Vietnam and my father sailed across the world on Naval Aircraft Carrier while in the Navy. I enjoy long runs and bike rides.I also enjoying being outside in nature and going backpacking. I love shooting and spending time with my family and friends. I hope to go active duty and branch infantry. I love to push my self beyond my breaking point and challenge myself never to give up. Be all you can be! Hooah!"

CDT Bell is A CO CDT of the week!

"I am an MS3 and I am studying Kinesiology because I have a passion for exercise. I grew up in Monmouth, Oregon. Activities I enjoy include fishing, playing guitar, and riding motorcycles. Some of the things I like about ROTC are being able to challenge myself physically and mentally and learning to develop my leadership skills. My goal is to commission as an Infantry Officer in the National Guard."

Cadet Spotlight is CDT Foster! She showed incredible strength and determination during Ranger Challenge.

"Hi, I’m Naomi Foster and I’m a first year Business Admin student and AROTC cadet! I chose to do ROTC because both my great grandpas flew fighter jets for the Navy (Go Army) in WWII and I wanted to carry on that legacy. This year I was fortunate enough to take part in Ranger Challenge and it ended up being one of the most intense and fun thing I have ever done. I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho so my free time is full of running, swimming, hiking, and racing my bike (my favorite)!"

Congrats CDT Simmon on being A CO CDT of the week!

"I’m Will Simmons from Vancouver, WA! I’m majoring in nutrition with a minor in music. I joined ROTC to pay for a degree, but I’ve fallen in love with the community and love growing in my leadership abilities and watching others grow in theirs. If you’re wondering about me, I love life and everything about it. Particularly Jesus, driving, hanging out with friends, making music, traveling, hiking, skiing, eating good food, building legos, running track competitively, and lifting! (Ask me about my PRs and compound lifts!)"

B2 won the Commanders Cup competition consisting of running with equipment, high crawl with plates, grenades, and tug of war. All the platoons worked hard and gave it their all! Afterwards we recognized CDTs Boykin, VanRooyen, and Foster for excellence. PFC Butkus received his demotion from CPL due to insubordination and peeing on the floor.
