The Centro Cultural César Chávez exists to support the different ethnic and cultural peoples' pursuit of their educational goals and the retention of their culture. Further, it strives to inform both the respective cultural groups and the greater university communities about issues central to the Chicanx/Latinx/Hispanic culture and heritage. The Centro Cultural César Chávez seeks to provide an env

ironment in which students are able to accept and appreciate their differences and also a place that encourages a sense of purpose and unity.

His favorite thing about working at the Centro is, “seeing students, faculty, staff, and community members coming together and being in community with each other. I also like how colorful and vibrant the space itself is.”

He looks forward to, “getting to meet lots of folks that come to the Centro and providing support and resources as needed. In my personal life, I always look forward to spending time with my little sister. I have a 9-year-old sister and we love going to the movies!”

CONTENT NOTIFICATION: sexual assault, child sexual abuse, rape, systemic violence, rape culture, combatting shame and victim-blaming, and healing practices. The Native American Longhouse Eena Haws and El Centro invite you to join us for a conversation with Kim Guerra, poet and owner of Brown Badass Bonita, Sage Trudell, Lakota activist and Missing & Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) advocate, and Sahana Prasad, Interpersonal Violence Services Coordinator at OSU CAPS, as they discuss providing care to BIPOC survivors of interpersonal violence with a focus on paths to healing, as well as connections to the MMIW crisis. A confidential advocate from Survivor Advocacy Resource Center (SARC) or Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) will be available to speak or chat with anyone privately who may need support.
