Congrats to Dr. Youling Xiong, Distinguished Alumni Legacy Award winner! 👏
Youling is a globally recognized food scientist known for his pioneering research on protein functionality, quality, and health benefits in both animal and plant-derived foods.
As a Professor at the University of Kentucky, he has built a robust international research program, fostering collaborations across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, mentoring over 55 international graduate students.
Youling's impactful contributions to food science have earned him numerous prestigious honors, including the Bertebos Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize of Agriculture.”

Congratulations to Jack Bigej, Hall of Fame Award winner! 🥳
He might be humble, but make no mistake, Jack has made an enormous impact on Oregon ag. As CEO of Al's Garden & Home, Jack has dedicated his life to advancing Oregon’s nursery industry and transforming his family’s business, which is now in its 76th year.
Since taking over Al's Fruit Stand in the 1950s, Jack has continually evolved the business, expanding it into a renowned multi-location garden center, while advocating for fair industry practices and sharing his passion for plants with future generations. His influence on Oregon horticulture continues to inspire those around him.

Congratulations to Kirk Maag, Distinguished Alumni Luminary Award winner! 👏
As an attorney leading the Food & Agribusiness Team at Stoel Rives LLP, Kirk specializes in agricultural, environmental, and natural resources law, and has made an incredible impact on the folks working in those sectors.
With a deep background in Oregon agriculture and a practical approach to problem-solving, Kirk advises clients on critical issues such as water rights, protected species, and waste management. He is also an active community leader, serving on the boards of the Oregon FFA and the Cultivating Change Foundation.

Her strong commitment to OSU did not end with her graduation and return to the farming operation. Helle currently serves as Vice Chair of the ER Jackman Friends and Alumni Board, and also helped to organize the OSU-Grass Seed Industry Collaboration Group.
Helle’s farm is widely recognized by peers in farming for innovative approaches to agricultural production.

🥕He has been a leader in the seed industry for over 40 years. Since establishing Central Oregon Seeds in1979, he has played a crucial role in making Central Oregon a global leader in hybrid carrot seed production, while also championing innovative bee protection protocols.
A dedicated advocate for research and the agricultural community, Mike has supported numerous projects and initiatives benefiting both Oregon agriculture and the local community throughout his career and leadership.

Congratulations to Stan Gregory, Distinguished Legacy Award winner! 🥳
He is an internationally recognized expert in stream and riverine ecology who has made significant contributions to Oregon’s natural resources.
With over 120 publications and more than $14 million in research funding, Stan led the OSU Stream Team for over 30 years and has been instrumental in shaping riparian management practices in Oregon and beyond.
A passionate educator, he developed popular courses in stream ecology, limnology, and restoration ecology at OSU, which continue to benefit students worldwide through online offerings.
