New Utility Tree Trimming Program
The customized fabricated laboratory at Draper Instructional Service Center in Elmore is a one-of-a-kind structure where all #construction specialties can work on their skills. Built by #ISTCStudents, the Fab Lab features a one bedroom one bathroom fabricated structure with working plumbing. This is a great instructional tool for students to learn entry-level skills.
In the month of October #ISTC will be featuring all things construction to celebration #CareersinConstructionMonth. Follow along with the series to learn more about how Ingram is focusing on training students for high-demand career fields in construction.⠀

Cabinetmaking at J.F. Ingram State Technical College
#Cabinetmaking is an engaging program that allows students to learn the art of woodworking while expressing their creativity and ingenuity. Cabinetmaking is exclusively offered to students at the Main Campus in Deatsville. Cabinetmaking students have the opportunity to partner with #HabitatforHumanity to build custom cabinets for local families in need.

2023 ISTC Female Graduates_August 30
Today J.F. Ingram State Technical College celebrated 31 graduates from Tutwiler Prison for Women, Montgomery Womens Facility, and Birmingham Work Release Center. Student's families, Alabama Community College System officials, and outside partners attended the ceremony to support the student's accomplishments.

Barbering is the third most popular program offered at Ingram State. It is a unique skill that allows the graduates to gain employment immediately, working as the facility barber. Horticulture is offered at Limestone Correctional Facility in Harvest. Instructor Jeff Taylor explains how he teaches his students to successfully operate greenhouses and nurseries, beginning with propagation and ending with selling the plants. All but one plant is propagated in-house. The highlight of the program is selling their hard work to the community.

Commercial Truck Driving (CDL) is our newest non-credit program. Ingram State began offering the program in 2019 and it has grown to be a huge success. Hear from instructor Allen Johnson on what students can expect in the program and how Ingram prepares CDL students for employement.
