Elementary Education major, Ashlee Sexton, taught a 3-day learning segment on text features to 4th graders that ended with a text-feature surgery! She transformed the classroom into an operating room and the students became surgeons. They were tasked with saving their patient by identifying and transplanting the correct text features. When the patients were saved, their job wasn't quite complete because they still had to chart all the details about the text features.

We are thankful for Ms. Taylor and our partnership school, Rehobeth Elementary, for this incredible opportunity!
