Did you know that your mood may change with the seasons? As the official first day of winter approaches, with fewer daylight hours, overcast skies, and colder temperatures, we may find ourselves staying indoors with the blinds closed. But don't let Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affect your holiday spirit! Tips include: opening your blinds, using brighter light bulbs, and consider short-term therapy if needed. Sometimes, a small dose of medication can also help during the darker months. We want to keep your mood bright this season! ☀️

The theme emphasizes advancing progress towards the shared goal of ending AIDS by 2030.

Facts About AIDS/HIV:

WHAT is HIV/AIDS?

HIV (human immunedeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency deficiency syndrome). HIV and AIDS weaken the immune system, making it more likely to get other infections.

HOW does HIV enter the body?

HIV enters the body when blood or body fluid from my person with HIV enters another body. This can occur through all forms of sexual activity and/or sharing needles/syringes with someone who has HIV.

WHO can get HIV/AIDS?
Anybody

WHAT are some early symptoms of HIV?
Fever, sore throat, headache, muscle, pain, and joint pain.

HOW/WHERE can you be tested?

A blood or saliva test can be obtained through a doctors officer or clinic, Home testing kits are available at several pharmacies, and testing can be performed at your local health department.
