Mr. Donald G. Costello was a renowned businessman in Northern Virginia who supported the ideals of student success, entrepreneurship, and economic development. Through this $50 million planned gift to George Mason Universityâthe largest school naming gift in the 51-year history of our Northern Virginia-based universityâthe newly named Costello College of Business is extending the legacy of this forward-thinking entrepreneur whose creativity, hard work, and determination changed the lives of people around him.
This transformational gift establishes an endowment that will provide scholarships to undergraduate and graduate Donald G. Costello College of Business students to help prepare them for successful careers as entrepreneurs.

Read and George Mason University School of Business Dean Ajay Vinze signed a partnership agreement between Fairfax City Economic Development Authority and the George Mason University - School of Business that will deepen the already strong relationship between the City of Fairfax, Virginia and George Mason University.
The partnership agreement will create opportunities that will connect students with businesses, provide real-world experience supporting job creation and professional development, and enhance economic development opportunities within the City of Fairfax, Virginia.

The George Mason University School of Business SOAR Initiative is a critical building block in George Mason University's efforts to advance social mobility, or an individualâs ability to improve their socio-economic status. U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges 2024 ranks George Mason University #1 on social mobility among public universities in Virginia.
The SOAR Initiative provides resources and training for aspiring entrepreneurs who are refugees and immigrants, currently in a low socio-economic status, or residing in rural and emerging communities.
The initiativeâs innovative format facilitates the transformation of aspiring entrepreneurs and their families who face longstanding structural inequities in accessing training and support resources.
