Sigma Alpha Epsilon was founded March 10, 1856, upon ideals of excellence. In 1899 a man named John Walter Wayland wrote core tenants of the True Gentleman, which has since been adopted to SAE's ritual and guiding principles. Fast-forward to 2008, where the sparks which ignited Mason's chapter of SAE (Virginia Delta) to be born. The founders of Virginia Delta set out to change the goal of Fratern

al values from the stereotypes seen in the movies to something much more ancient and even nobler. The guiding goal of Virginia Delta since it's founding has been to become the most respected organization on campus. In the two years since our founding, one must think with the highest number of participants in Student Government, highest GPA and the highest ranking of any Fraternity in George Mason's Fraternal values, is a good start to continuing the legacy of our founders.
