Thank you to all of our participants, industry partners, faculty, and staff for a fantastic two weeks of summer camps! We explored our state-of-the-art labs, enjoyed some fun activities with our faculty, and toured multiple industry partner sites. Today, Wednesday 28th marks our last day of summer camps for 2023! We started with a 3-day high school camp last week and continued the fun with a 2-day middle school camp this week. For those that haven't followed along, find us on Instagram for daily photos/updates!

Seeding to Accelerate Research Themes (START) is a new program in CIT built to accelerate preliminary and collaborative research. All tenured or tenure-track assistant/associate/full professors can receive a token worth up to $15K, propose joint research projects with other CIT colleagues, and then request funds by pooling 2 to 5 tokens to obtain up to $75K.

Making a college shortlist is not always easy! To help make your search easier, here are some strategies for creating the perfect list:

1. Research: Do your research and look into each school’s academics, reputation, and financial aid opportunities

2. Visit: Visit potential campuses and check out the student life to get a better sense of the atmosphere

3. Talk: Talk to alums and current students about their experiences attending the college and ask any questions you have

4. Scorecards: Use college scorecards to compare different schools and figure out which one best fits your interests

We're gearing up for summer with our high school and middle school summer camps! These opportunities will bring students from all over Michigan to experience the world of technology in a unique hands-on environment here at the University of Michigan-Flint. We'll explore the areas of computing, engineering, and sustainability while also tying in some exciting field trips and presenters from the industries that are driving the future.

Our Innovation & Technology & Scholars Camp is officially open for registration! Available to all high school students grades 9-12, this unique on-campus experience gives students a chance to experience the world of technology through hands-on lab activities, presentations, field trips to industry locations, lunch, giveaways, and so much more.

Held June 20 - 22, seats are limited to 50 students per day and the camp cost is $60. Students are welcome to come for one, two, or all three days of the camp, and we'll be featuring a different theme for each day (computing, engineering, and sustainability).

Remember when CIT opened its doors to the first class just a few short years ago? 😅

We can't believe how fast time flies!

We've gone from four undergrad programs to nine undergrad programs and two master's degrees. Where there were once 40 students, we now have over 500. We're adding new faculty and staff, and continuing to expand our offerings as a college with each year to come.

It really is about the journey, not the destination.
