With amazing skill and immense dedication, Alyssia Washington and Sami Kotob put on a brilliant performance this week in Houston at the preliminary rounds of the American Moot Court Association national tournament. They ranked 12th after the first day and made it to the second day playoffs, making them the highest ranked University of Michigan team ever. We are so proud of these two!

Sami Kotob and Alyssia Washington are in Houston at the preliminary rounds of the American Moot Court Nationals. They are ranked 12th after Day 1 and are headed to the playoffs in Day 2. Wish them luck!

In the words of our own Kim Saks: "Sami could have left us two years ago to go to an ivy league school but he stayed here where he could get the opportunity to do his own faculty-supported research, moot court, and student government. He is emblematic of why our little campus gives such big opportunities and how you can end up anywhere--even one of the best law schools in the nation--from here."

On Friday, about 30 students came on our Detroit Law School Field Trip. In addition to visiting the two Detroit law schools, we also were able to visit the Levin Federal District Courthouse. It was a fantastic day! Thank you to all that made it happen.

Congratulations to Alyssia Washington and Sami Kotob for making it to the semi-finals at the Great Lakes Regional Moot Court Competition this past weekend. In addition, Alyssia earned scores making her the 6th Top Orator overall in the competition. We are so proud of them and can't wait to see them move forward!
