As part of their Zoo Animal Enrichment course, studio art graduate student Marcy Davis, environmental science graduate student Peyton Harper and Kaitlyn Klotz ’24 MA created a structure for black-and-white colobus monkeys inspired by trees in their native Kenyan forests.

The yearly collaboration between the TCU College of Fine Arts and the TCU College of Science & Engineering tasks students with designing and building structures that enhance the quality of life for animals at the Fort Worth Zoo.

“It was amazing to have our project installed at the zoo after a semester of research,” Harper said. “Seeing our chosen animal use that structure exactly how we hoped was something I will never forget.”
