TCU nursing hosted Starpoint School for a career day where these kids got to learn a little about the nursing program. They talked with current nursing students and had some hands on skills and activities from nursing faculty and the Health Professions Learning Center team. They had fun learning about germs and putting on PPE, practicing CPR skills, using a stethoscope to assess pediatric manikins, how to use an oral syringe, and learning how high fidelity manikins work. Maybe we will have some future nurses!

We are pleased to celebrate Dr. Jeremy Hutson who defended his PhD in Health Sciences dissertation last week, "Comparing Novice Nurses' Cognitive Load in Routine and Non-Routine Simulations Using Mixed Methods." Dr. Hutson will join the faculty at Linfield University in Portland, Oregon next academic year. Congratulations, Dr. Hutson!

Four students won awards, including Daisy in Training winners Hayley Molina and Johnny Sifuentes, and Pillar of University Leadership winners Sammy Jepsen and Kate Vu.
