Tuesday, October 10 from 2pm-3:30pm in HS118

Everyone is welcome! You don't have to be enrolled in the class to attend.

Oscar Ochoa is a visual artist born and raised in Los Angeles, CA whose work delves deep into the intersection of personal family archives, intangible histories, and the power of myth-making. Through a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses photography, video, writing, sculpture, storytelling, and performance, Ochoa challenges the perception of memory and its creation. Faced with the lack of tangible evidence, Ochoa draws upon oral histories, storytelling, and myth-making to breathe life once again into his ancestral past while constantly urging a questioning of the narrative that shapes our own lives in order to celebrate the enigmatic beauty of family, memory, and our intersecting stories. Ochoa currently resides in Los Angeles, CA and holds BFA from the California Institute of the Art.
