Individualized College Planning
The college admission process has become increasingly difficult to navigate. As independent educational consultants, we work with each student to help identify colleges and universities that offer the best match for their unique needs as well as keep them on track through every phase of the college application process.
The services we offer:
High School Curriculum Planning: We guide students in their high school course selections in order to stay competitive and on track for college admissions.
Career Planning: We provide personality and aptitude testing to identify student’s interests and strengths. These results lead to discussions and research in potential careers.
Majors: We educate students about the various majors offered and guide them in selecting a major that pertains to their future career goals. Additionally, we recommend colleges that offer strong programs in the student’s area of interest.
College Selection: We assist students in selecting colleges that match their academic strengths, social expectations, educational needs, and geographic preferences.
College Entrance Exams: We educate students on the differences between the SAT and the ACT standardized tests, recommend a testing schedule, and offer suggestions for test prep.
College Essays and Personal Statement: We offer essay workshops and individual sessions to help students brainstorm and choose topics that will make them stand out in the admissions process. Often, the personal statement can be the tipping factor in the admission process. We assist students in creating a unique and authentic essay that conveys their personality.
College Applications: We create an admission schedule that keeps students on top of application deadlines, including sending test scores, letters of recommendation, and other required documents. College applications will be completed with our assistance during scheduled appointments.
Financial Aid: We help families understand the costs associated with college expenses. We provide a financial aid workshop for parents that explain the different types of financial aid as well as the paperwork required (FAFSA and CSS Profile).
Scholarships: We ensure that students meet college deadlines and complete additional scholarship applications, if applicable, in order to be considered for merit scholarships. Additionally, we send a monthly scholarship list of local, state, and national scholarships.
NCAA and NAIA recruiting: We offer advice for student-athletes who wish to play a collegiate sport. The topics covered include: NCAA/NAIA rules, registering for NCAA/NAIA, how to gain NCAA/NAIA eligibility, what coaches are looking for in recruits, and ways in which to contact coaches as well as college camps/visits.
Lastly, we help reduce the stress that often accompanies college applications. Michelle has two children and Candice has three children that have gone through the college application process, so we both know how difficult the process can be without the proper knowledge and tools. As unbiased professionals, we provide guidance to students and families from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoy working with each student and celebrating their successes in the admission process and beyond.
