We’re offering a view from inside the new applied sciences building currently under construction (which will be named the Braddock Center for Science and Innovation) where windows are now in place overlooking the Student Administration building.

Situated adjacent to the existing campus science buildings, the new two-story, 22,165-square-foot science center will house five instruction spaces, four fully operational laboratories, as well as a student support space. The center will be home to Cal State East Bay programs that are leading the way with innovative approaches to conservation, research and learning.

The interior of the Braddock Center for Science and Innovation will encourage collaborative discovery and hands-on experimentation, and its exterior hardscape and seating areas will play an intentional role in communal learning by drawing learners and instructors to the outdoors.

We look forward to completion of the new building during the next academic year.

Congrats to international students Saiteja and Khushboo for winning the Women In Leadership (WIL) ideathon last week!

Posted • Exciting News! 🚀

Today marked the grand finale of the Disability Accessibility and AI Ideathon, and we’re thrilled to announce the winners – Beyond Sight! (Khushboo Kaur & Saiteja Kudligi). 🏆

This ideathon aimed to spark conversations about creating an inclusive world, aligning with the Forum’s theme, “Leading with AI.” The focus was on seeking AI-based solutions to foster inclusivity. But can we turn this vision into reality?

The participating teams not only proved it possible but also kickstarted a dialogue to make this vision a tangible reality. Congratulations to all the outstanding teams: Visionears (Varshashree Dasuratha, Navin Kishore Ravi Kumar, KARTHICK PALANISAMY, Mishelle Taborga), Echo Eyes (Vinmathi Iyappan, Sindhuja Arivukkarasu, Garima vijay), and Social Sense AI (Syeda Nida Khader, Yash Urade, Rahul Patil). 🌟

A heartfelt congratulations to each team for their unwavering dedication over the past few weeks. Special thanks to Izzet Sidki Darendeli Ph.D and the smith center for guiding these students and nurturing their innovative ideas.

A big thank you to our esteemed judges- Cathy Pearl, Lynne Grewe, Surendra Sarnikar, Filippo Rebessi, Moayed Daneshyari for their invaluable contributions and insights throughout the ideathon!

We, at WIL (Asha Rao, Ayushi Dwivedi, & the entire WIL program), extend our warmest congratulations to all the teams. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of possibility! 🌐👏
