Earlier this week the Asian Pacific Islander Student Success Center hosted a presentation about Hmong culture.

Posted • Hosting our last API-Ed Talk for the academic year was led by no other than Michelle and supported by Jeslyn!

Our very own students shared about the history of Hmong people and traditions in the Center. From learning about The Secret War to hearing Michelle’s dad play a two-string violin, thaj chij, and seeing Michelle’s Hmong clothing when she was a baby, we learned a lot about Hmong culture. 🫶🏼✨

Alma Garcia from Mexico is one of dozens of international students completing an internship for academic credit this semester. An MA Interaction Design and Interactive Art student (), she expresses her appreciation for the faculty and fellow students for their encouragement throughout the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) process.

"Thanks to the encouragement from my department, I was able to secure an internship in the field I’m currently studying. Finding the right opportunity wasn’t easy, but the support from my cohort and professors gave me the confidence to pursue it. Through this experience, I’ve had the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in the MA IxDIA program and navigate my CPT journey. It has not only helped me grow professionally but has also allowed me to create even better opportunities for myself.”
