Friday is for physics ! βοΈ Are you ready for another great Physics in Action! Spitzer Seminar ?
We have a super exciting Sptizer seminar this week! Diego Novoa from the University of California at Berkeley (Go Bears!) will be presenting on his research on laser-cooled titanium and the fascinating explorations of quantum phenomena that will be possible with this new ultracold atomic species.
The Physics in Action! Spitzer Seminar will be in-person in North Science 220 and simulcast on Zoom: Link in Bio!

Are you ready for another great Physics in Action! Spitzer Seminar ?
This week Dr. Jason Veatch will talk about Particle Physics at CERN!
Jason is part of the CSUEB ATLAS Team! After the seminar there will be refreshments provided for a picnic on the lawn behind the Science buildings!
Invite all your physics curious friends! It's going to be awesome!!

This week we are excited to have another one of our amazing students presenting on the exciting research they did over the summer! βοΈ Our very own Mario Duenas (our 2021-22 Cal State East Bay Physics Student of the Year!) will discuss his fascinating work at Stanford University with Prof. Leo Hollberg's group investigating effects of magnetic fields on laser-induced fluorescence of ytterbium (Yb) atoms. #csueb #csuebscience #stem #foreverpioneer #physics
This week we are incredibly excited to present our very own
Brittany Karki, who spent this summer doing exciting physics research in Paris, France! π«π·She'll tell us about the research she worked on and maybe even a little bit about her adventures in France! π«π·See you all there!TheΒ PhysicsΒ inΒ Action!Β SpitzerΒ SeminarΒ will be in-person and simulcast on Zoom: High order mode conversion for nonlinear optics experiments in microstructured fibers.
Brittany Karki says, "In this talk I will discuss my summer research work on nonlinear optics in fiber optic cables as part of a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) sponsored by the University of Michigan and the UniversitΓ© Paris Saclay at the Institut d'Optique Graduate School in Palaiseau, France. I built a system that allows control of the intensity distribution of an output laser beam, and will discuss the physics behind this system and how it was constructed."
