Congratulations to our Graduates!! Our Graduation Celebration was Thursday, June 6th! We were able to celebrate with both GED and ELL students and their families.

Thanks to Hutchinson Community College, President Dr. File, President-Elect Dr. Paramore, and the HutchCC Board of Trustees. Thank you to John and Wanuck for the amazing speeches! and a special thanks to Nick Hemphill for the great photos and Altrusa of Hutchinson for the amazing cookies and punch.

It takes a strong support system to graduate and we are so thrilled to support our students!

It is all too common when a victim that is being subject to continued abuse, be it physical, emotional, mental, financial, that they feel as if the weight is so heavy that their only solution is take their own life, leaving behind many loved ones. Let us reassure you, you have options, and you are *absolutely* valued. If you feel as if you tried your hardest to escape abuse, and still have no where to turn, no where to go, or don't know what to do next, come to us. At the very least, if you can't, or simply won't, please consider reaching out to the su***de hotline at 988. Although we aren't mental health professionals, we do have access to such resources. You matter, and your voice matters. You are so loved. Remember that.

By 2024, 48 percent of job openings will be middle-skill and 32 percent will be high-skill. This means that nearly 80 percent of all job openings will require more than a high school degree[iii]. We already have a problem filling labor market needs, and the situation is only projected to worsen. Adult education provides a significant opportunity to bridge the workforce supply-and-demand gap.

The classes offered by Hutch Adult Ed Center have the ability to change lives and improve our community. The Adult Education and Family Literacy Act is one part of a whole system designed to improve lives through education.

Per the Kansas Board of Regents, AELFA requires specified performance measures and levels of performance to assess the progress of the state agency in enhancing and developing more fully the literacy skills of its adult population. The state agency is required to use AEFLA grant funds to award multi-year grants to eligible providers to develop, implement, and improve adult education and literacy activities. These activities include basic skills for the workforce and family life, English as a Second Language and citizenship skills, and adult secondary education leading to an adult high school diploma.
