We will provide you a quality education because of its multi-disciplined degree programs. In an effort to provide academic curricula that will meet the needs of a diverse student population, HutchCC has structured several Degree and Certificate options which are not only tailored to meet a student's specific career goal, but are offered on-campus or via distance education (on-line). All degree pro
grams require successful completion of a minimum of 60credit hours of academic study with a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Certificate programs can be completed within one academic year. An Associate of Arts (AA) degree is generally the curriculum of choice for individuals desiring to complete their baccalaureate degree after graduation from HutchCC. Students preparing for careers in federal and state law enforcement or in probation generally pursue the AA degree since a bachelor's degree is traditionally a pre-requisite for entrance into these fields. Additionally, many local law enforcement agencies now require a four-year degree for promotion, particularly to upper level management positions. The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree should be considered by individuals who already have law enforcement certification from a state recognized police academy. The AAS has the distinct advantage of awarding students 12 credit hours towards the degree, leaving the student with needing to complete the remaining 52 credit hours at HutchCC. In addition to its traditional degree programs, HutchCC has expanded its program to allow a student to obtain a Certificate in Police Science-Law Enforcement. This curriculum will permit students to complete 52 credit hours at HutchCC and earn the certificate. The student secured a law enforcement with an agency, attends and graduated a police academu. HutchCC will give the student 12 credit hour free, which allows the student to meet the AAS degree requirements.
