Distinguished Dragons - Grace Quigley
From McPherson, Kansas, Grace Quigley completed one degree in Computer Drafting Technologies and an Associate of Arts. While at HutchCC, Grace served not only as the editor of the Tulgey Wood but also Co-President of the Kappa Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa as well as Secretary/Treasurer of the Honors Student Council. Furthermore, she was named repeatedly to the President’s Honor Roll and to the Kansas All-Academic Team both in 2022 and 2023.
Furthermore, she was named the 2022 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar for the state of Kansas. For this honor, she was recognized in New York City at the annual Association of Community College Trustees’ Leadership Congress event.
Her nominator writes, “Simply put, Grace is fantastic and one of my all-time favorite students I have ever had the fortune to have in class. She is a wonderful leader, a caring individual, a strong critical thinker, and a true lifelong learner.”
Some of Grace’s favorite experiences while at HutchCC involved the Honors Student Council meetings. She writes that the meetings “stand out as being especially fun and rewarding as we learned how to conduct business that betters our student body's experience while forming friendships and having a good time.”
Two people she would like to thank for their support are Tracy Chadwick and Ryan Diehl. She further adds, “HutchCC has given me academic, professional, and personal direction for my life. Thanks to the caring faculty and staff and challenging curriculum, my future is littered with new opportunities.”
