Taking advantage of a few spare minutes, I had the pleasure of visiting with these practical nursing students from Hutchinson Community College Practical Nursing Program about their clinical rotation here. Complimentary of our staff, we can be complimentary of their interest in our work, their questions and observations. Yesterday, each of them shadowed different departments: urgent care and clinic, the ER, the nursing floor and OP procedures. Thanks future LPNs, we are happy to have you here!

2024 Distinguished Dragons: SYDNEY GRAUER

From Marysville, Kansas, Sydney Grauer studied nursing while at HutchCC. Her nominator writes, “Sydney is a dedicated student to her studies and finished her RN degree this spring. In addition to this, Sydney is a residence assistant for campus housing and advocates for her residents. Furthermore, she does her best to ensure every student has an excellent time at HutchCC.”

Sydney has also been very active on campus with her serving as the Student Government Association President. Furthermore, she is a member of the cross country and track and field teams and a member of the Campus Activities Board. Her favorite experiences at HutchCC were getting to meet new people and being able to build connections with students and staff.

She would like to thank all of her professors and classmates. She would also like to thank Dana Hinshaw, Darrell Adams, and especially Shelby Branting. She concludes by writing, “I am blessed to have spent my last three years at Hutch and I am so thankful for the experiences and education I have gained.”

As you may be aware, Ascension hospitals were hit by a ransomware attack and have been working from paper. They may need some temp help to scan and take care of the papers as they come back up to electronic format. If you would like to help out, earn some extra money and get some experience, this may be your opportunity. It is face to face, not remote.
