Hutchinson Community College’s Board of Trustees chair Terry Bisbee announced today the Board has selected Dr. Tricia Paramore as the college’s next president, pending approval of a contract at a special meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 1.
Paramore, the vice president of academic affairs at HutchCC since February 2023 and a 28-year veteran of the institution, would become president of the college July 1.
Bisbee said the board of trustees discussed the presidential choice for over an hour in executive session at a meeting held Monday night.
From a beginning pool of 46 applicants, five semifinalists emerged and were interviewed by the search committee. The field narrowed to three finalists, each participating in a daylong interview on campus.
Hundreds of people heard the three finalists and were asked to fill out evaluation forms. The forms were then distributed to all board members for their review and to assist them in the decision-making process.
“I appreciate the work of the search committee and the Board of Trustees,” said Bisbee. “Based on the feedback we received, we’re very confident in our selection and look forward to getting an agreement finalized with Dr. Paramore.”
