On February 28, 2025 our College Preparatory (CP) students visited Byodo-In Temple Hawaii where they learned about the temple’s history and embraced the calming atmosphere.

On February 12, 2025 students from our HIST 151 & POLISCI 150 classes visited Ho’oulu ‘Āina, a 100-acre nature preserve located in the back of Kalihi Valley and operated by a local community health center, Kōkua Kalihi Valley. Working with Native Hawaiian caretakers, the students listened to traditional mo’olelo (stories) about the valley, harvested ‘ōlena (turmeric), and learned what NGO’s in Hawai’i can do for local communities.
