The Detroit Tigers are hosting an Italian Heritage night on Monday, Aug. 18th! Tickets can be found at https://www.mlb.com/tigers/tickets/specials/events.
If enough interest is generated the IACL will look into group transportation options, so as soon as you purchase a ticket, please emails us at [email protected]. If we have enough tickets purchased by Aug. 1st, we will work to schedule transportation.

We are always looking to increase our membership at the IACL. For a number of reasons, but most importantly to grow our community in an effort to preserve our culture, heritage, and traditions. If you haven't joined yet or not yet renewed your membership, please reach out, we'll be happy to connect. Also if you know someone who has yet to join, bring them in!
One of the greatest things about growing our membership is the opportunity to bring in new energy, generate new ideas, and build the foundation of a solid and connected community.

Many Italian immigrant families, particularly those from southern Italy, played a significant role in shaping Lansing's culinary landscape. They brought with them traditional farming and gardening skills, often cultivating their own vegetable gardens, raising small livestock like chickens and pigs for eggs and meat, and making their own wine and homemade sauces.

This emphasis on fresh, often homegrown ingredients, and traditional preparation methods, deeply influenced the local food scene. While many went on to open restaurants and grocery stores, their individual efforts in providing for their families with authentic Italian food helped to establish a rich culinary tradition that is still evident in Lansing today.
